Wiley, Jose

Dr. Jose Wiley embarked on this mission in his native Puerto Rico, where he completed medical school at the Universidad Central del Caribe, Bayamon in June 1994. Two years later he moved to New Orleans and completed a residency in internal medicine in 1998, followed by a fellowship in cardiology in 2001 at the Tulane University School of Medicine. As a chief cardiology fellow, Dr. Wiley was awarded with the Albert Hyman “Fellow of the Year” award in 2001.

McLaughlin, Kenneth

Ken McLaughlin is joining Tulane’s mathematics department as the Evelyn and John G. Phillips Distinguished Professor of Mathematics.  He studied mathematics at New York University and went on to earn his Ph.D. from that school’s Courant Institute in 1994.   He has served as Head of the Mathematics Department at the University of Arizona, and as the Chair of the Mathematics Department Colorado State University.

Matter, Michelle

     Dr. Matter received a PhD in cell biology from the University of Virginia Medical School. After completing her postdoctoral research with Dr. Erkki Ruoshlati at The Sanford Burnham Institute, Dr. Matter joined the University of Hawaii School of Medicine as an assistant professor. She obtained tenure as associate professor at the University of Hawaii Cancer Center in 2015 before joining Tulane School of Medicine as a tenured professor in 2022.
