School or College
School of Liberal Arts

My name is Simon Rotzer, and I earned my PhD in Political Science from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Currently, I am a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science at Tulane University. My research is focused on Civil-Military Relations. In particular, I want to understand how the government, the public, and the military talk to and about each other and what consequences these conversations have for society, the state, and international security. My current projects investigate why countries keep conscription (i.e., forced recruitment into the military) during peacetime and how public support influences these decisions.
