Sundholm, Benjamin

Benjamin Sundholm received a J.D. cum laude from Georgetown University Law Center, where he was an articles editor of The Georgetown Law Journal. He received an M.A. in philosophy from Georgetown University and a B.A. cum laude in philosophy from Bethel University. After law school, he worked as an associate in the New York office of Debevoise & Plimpton before serving as a fellow of medical ethics at Cornell Medicine. His research focuses on law & philosophy and bioethics.

Arnold, Paulina D.

Paulina Arnold joins Tulane Law School as a Forrester Fellow after working as a movement lawyer at CASA, a grassroots immigrant advocacy organization. Her research focuses on the intersection of immigration and prison law — including civil detention, habeas and constitutional law. She received her BA from Yale College and her JD from Harvard Law School. After law school, Arnold clerked for the Hon. Paul A. Engelmayer of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York and the Hon. Cornelia T.L. Pillard of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit.

Shammas, Michael E.

Michael Shammas recently finished a clerkship with the Hon. Ronald L. Gilman of the Sixth Circuit. After graduating from Harvard Law School in 2016, he worked as a Paul, Weiss litigator before completing a clerkship in the U.S. District Court for the District of Maine, and an NYU Law fellowship.

Davis, Mark

A widely consulted and quoted authority on water law and management, Mark Davis joined Tulane Law School in 2007 as a senior research fellow and founding director of the Tulane Institute on Water Resources Law and Policy. In 2017 he also became the director of Tulane’s ByWater Institute, which is focused on the interdisciplinary aspects of water stewardship and community resilience. In 2019 he was named the founding director of the Tulane Center for Environmental Law and in 2020 was promoted to research professor.

Moroz, Stanislav

Stanislav “Stas” Moroz joined Tulane in 2020 as a clinical instructor with the Women’s Prison Project. Prior to joining Tulane, Moroz worked as a public defender with the Orleans Public Defenders for nearly six years, serving both as a member the trial division and the special litigation division. As a member of the trial division, Moroz represented thousands of clients on charges ranging from minor municipal violations to second-degree murder.

Yanik, Mary

Professor of Practice Mary Yanik directs the Immigrant Rights Clinic, supervising students in representing immigrants in deportation defense, affirmative applications for lawful status, constitutional litigation, and strategic advocacy. Yanik previously worked at the New Orleans Workers’ Center for Racial Justice, leading a law-and-organizing practice in support of community-directed campaigns for labor, migrant and racial justice.

Lane-Steele, Laura A.

Laura Lane-Steele earned her JD from Harvard Law School in 2016 and her BA from Washington University in St. Louis in 2010. After law school, she clerked for the Hon. Jane R. Roth on the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. She also practiced law at Steptoe & Johnson, LLP, in Washington, D.C., focusing on complex commercial litigation. Her research focuses on sex and gender in American equality law and family law.
